We hate to do this but we need to, to stay competitive and adequately staffed. Now with this we are working on a better quality control we hope to implement with this.
UPDATE TO SATURDAY PICKUPS
We are booked almost full on Saturdays and for those who can not make it here during the week due to work we must make sure we have enough pickup times for everyone so we are increasing the number of available pick up times on Saturdays so bookings on Saturdays will be every 5 minutes as opposed to every 10. Please respect social distancing when picking up as others may be present. We recommend a mask but you do not enter our building so it is not mandatory but the 6 foot distance rule does apply (We are well aware that some of you do not feel this is necessary but the other people do so please be respectful of others and our staff here)
STORAGE FEE’S AND LATE PAYMENT FEES
We are no longer waiving LATE PAYMENT fee’s and STORAGE FEE’S. We now have curbside pickup and that looks like it is going to be the normal thing now until a vaccine is available for Covid19. We may loosen the rules a little if the virus really starts to fizzle out on it’s own but for now this curbside pickup is working so you have no excuse not to pick up your items or have them delivered or shipped. If you do have a valid reason then open a support ticket and let us know and we will deal with special requests one by one.
FOR THOSE NOT FOLLOWING RULES FOR CURBSIDE PICKUP
The curbside pickup is FAST and EFFICIENT it is working great, you can come 10 minutes prior to your pickup time and if the person ahead of you was early or on time then we will wave you in to grab your stuff, we just don’t want two or more people outside together at the same time for everyone’s safety. Stay in your car till it’s your turn, do not approach the door if someone is before you and at the door, do not get out of your car and walk the dog, have a smoke or chat with someone. DO NOT come knock on our door, ask for your items early or try to open one of our doors! We will not so politely tell you to LEAVE and NOT COME BACK.
This is just a SMALL handful of inconsiderate people (but a few a week is a few too many). We do not want those people back. If you can not be considerate of others your not going to be welcome here. If you enter someones personal 6 foot space who is nervous about contracting the virus you are basically being the most inconsiderate person you could possibly be! All we are asking is that everyone please respect other peoples safe space and understand others may be very concerned of catching the virus. Please have a little compassion and understanding even if you don’t worry about catching it yourself just act like you do, follow the rules and make others feel safer because of it. People will like you instead of tell you off so it’s a win win if you do.
CASH, DEBIT & CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS PERMITTED ON PICKUP
The latest changes allow for curb side pickup with payment accepted at pickup HOWEVER we are still asking people to pay online if they can. The debit machine is now located at the curbside pickup door with long enough wires however it is not water proof so we need to wrap it in a plastic bag, also it is very hard to see in the sunlight as well so if you want to pay in person we recommend cash to avoid any issues.
HOW WILL CASH PAYMENTS WORK?
At the time of your pickup appointment if your invoice is still UNPAID we will have a container to place your cash in (Exact change please if you can as we do not want to be passing change back and forth but we will if necessary). Please DO NOT put the cash in a envelope, we will count it in the bin without touching it so it must be loose. Once you leave the cash in the container provided please step away from the door at least 10 feet and we will bring your items out for you and your change (if needed).
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS
- CURBSIDE PICKUP (ZERO CONTACT) IS AVAILABLE
We have had custom computer software written to manage all curbside pickups, delivery and storage of your items. As you can imagine the logistics of this are rather overwhelming. You MUST have an appointment scheduled using our online system to pick up your items, when you book your time our system will notify us of the time and date of your booking. We book this in 10 minute intervals to keep everyone safe.
- PICKING UP YOUR STUFF AND SOMEONE ELSE’S AT THE SAME TIME?
If you are picking up for you and a friend of family member just book TWO appointments (one from each account) and let us know you want them out at the same time. Both accounts would need to make a booking for pickup for our software to work for you and us.
- YOUR SAFETY AND OURS
We have a strict procedure that you must agree to before booking your time and answer three multiple choice questions to ensure you read the policies and procedures and understand them. This keeps us safe, you safe and your neighbors safe.Please visit the new link in your menu or at the top of the home page labeled “Curb Side Pickup” for instructions and appointment booking. At the time of your appointment we will place your items outside the SIDE DOOR (to the right of the main doors) and you have 5 minutes to retrieve them. No one else is permitted to be outside a vehicle during your pickup time (and you will not be permitted to be outside of your vehicle when it is not your time) this will keep everyone safe.If we use a BIN to put your items out in we do disinfect the bins before they come back in after each use. We are doing our part to keep everyone safe please help us by following our procedures for pick up.
- LOCAL DELIVERY (ZERO CONTACT) IS AVAILABLE
With some limitations. We DO NOT deliver to apartments or inside buildings/businesses or P.O. Boxes. This is a driveway/porch drop off delivery by ONE person so heavy items over 25lbs or bulky items that would require 2 people will not be delivered. We will text you or email you when your items arrive. (To book a delivery visit your Invoice Page or local delivery link from your main menu or home page of the website). We are delivering items on Thursday’s and/or Friday’s at this time. The delivery system is fully managed by our new custom software, it will NOT book your delivery if you delivery fee and invoice are not paid by noon on Wednesday. At noon the fully booked deliveries will be optimally routed in a delivery map and the items loaded in reverse order into the delivery vehicle. If you want us to drop off TWO accounts items to the same address you will need to book TWO separate deliveries and pay for both individually. Maybe share the bidding account with your spouse for the time being to save on delivery costs if you usually use two different accounts. Asking us to just bring two accounts stuff to the same address does not work, each must have a booked delivery. We have kept the costs for delivery VERY reasonable as well. Between the time it takes to load everyone’s stuff, deliver it all and gas we are pretty much working for significantly less than minimum wage. We are doing this as a service for everyone to help with covid19 and not to profit from it so please keep that in mind. For the handful of people asking us for exact dates and times the items will be delivered and getting mad at us cause we cant just bring someone else stuff with us to the same address please consider the huge additional work load this all is putting on us and the logistics involved in storing, delivering and managing curb side pickup appointments as well. We are doing this to help everyone out, if you do not agree with our procedures and policies please simply have us store your items for you or refrain from bidding until the restrictions are lifted.
- ONLINE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT IS AVAILABLE
See your invoice page we have added a “ADD TO CART” button that allows you to pay with PAYPAL or CREDIT CARD without a PayPal Account.
- PLEASE PAY FOR YOUR ITEMS ONLINE
We are still asking everyone to pay for your auction winnings by INTERAC EMAIL MONEY TRANSFERS or PAYPAL for the time being or by credit card online using the new “ADD TO CART” button on your invoice page. If you only pay for things with cash we do have a private mailbox set up to drop a envelop in or mail it to us. You will need exact change. This Mailbox is NOT at the shop. Please contact us for the address and instructions for this. If you only use cash to pay for items you can now leave cash at the door in a container we will put out for you (someone will be at the other side of the door to collect it) just step back 10 feet and we will come out and get it, count it and then bring your items out and wave you back over and we will go back inside (ZERO Contact – You are to remain 10 feet away from us and/or the staff here at ALL times). Wearing PPE (masks and gloves) is always recommended as well.
- NO PREVIEW AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME
Someone actually booked a curbside pickup appointment that wanted to preview an item! We did not think we have to say this but… Obviously no preview is available right now! You can ask questions up till Friday morning on any item and we will do our best to get the answers for you. We will even take extra photos if we can. Please do not ask questions late in the week (Saturday or Sunday) we are at the location on Saturday till 3pm but we are pretty busy, we will try to answer your questions but chances are we will not be able to if you leave it this late in the week. If you ask on Sunday we most certainly cant answer your questions (only by what we remember from when the item came in) but no one is at the shop on Sundays usually. Ask early in the week for the best answers.
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR CONSIGNORS
- CONSIGNORS WE STILL NEED YOUR ITEMS FOR SALE
We have set up a TEXT only phone number (Please do not call it expecting anyone to answer it does not ring) The number is 705.717.0834 CONSIGNORS ONLY and is for setting up consignment drop off times as we are not keeping regular hours. Please do not phone this number or use it for any other reason.
- QUARANTINED ITEMS FOR 4 DAYS
The virus apparently can LIVE on a hard surface for up to 4 days so we are letting consignors load up racks in the front double door area where we have ZERO contact. The second door will remain locked During your drop off and the door handle disinfected between each drop off. We then wheel your items into storage and date the items so we know when they are safe for our staff to touch and photograph.
- VIDEO DOORBELL INSTALLED IN BREEZEWAY
We have a very good video doorbell with two way communication and HD video so we can see when you are bringing in. if you need to speak with us during drop off just push the button. You will notice it is the breezeway with a big sign. Please use it if you need to speak with us.
- PLEASE BOOK A TIME WITH US FOR DROOPING OFF
Please text the number or open a support ticket to arrange a drop off time. We do 30 minute drop off windows. If you do not have a cell phone please CONTACT US (CLICK HERE) or open the CONTACT US page and open a support ticket to let us know when your coming (Even saying “Around noon” would be good) so we can coordinate a time to ensure we are able to receive your goods and also try to work it so only one person is dropping off items at a time.
- CASH OUT YOUR ACCOUNT
If you wish to be paid out just let us know and we will send you a INTERAC EMAIL MONEY transfer or PAYPAL (Your Choice). We are not paying out cash or cheque right now to consignors as this is a zero contact time. We are not accepting cash at the shop for payments and we are not doing bank deposits either so payouts must be done this way.
- LIMITED HOURS AND STAFF
Without ongoing pickup we do not require full time staff right now to run the counter so the doors will be locked with procedure notices on the doors
