Items listed as “NEW” or “WORKING” that are not in a “RESELLERS” lots are all sold individually have 24 hour guarantee. We require the consignors to give our customers 24 hours to take the item home, open it, check it out, test it and make sure it is working.
Also…. we do NOT test anything in the store or open boxes that appear to be factory sealed. The consignors bring these items to us and it is an auction (Not a retail store) so everything else is sold AS DESCRIBED in AS IS and AS FOUND condition with no warranty or guarantee of any kind. If you come back to us in 25 or more hours telling us your item is not working or not complete or broken we can not do anything for you so please take your items home and check them out with that time frame
When you pick up the item please inspect it before removing it from the store.
It you find the item is NOT how the consignor described it then simply let the counter staff know and you will not need to take it. We would pull up the listing and if we agree it is not as it is listed or shown in the photos you would not be obligated to take it. Any breakable item that is removed from the store is no longer covered. Once you have taken it out, there is no return policy as we have no control over the items being moved or packed
We HOLD the consignors payout in escrow for 24 hours only on new items then release it to them.
Items listed as NEW or where the consignor has indicated that they are sold in WORKING order will be guaranteed for 24 hours from the time they are PAID FOR. Consignors will not be paid out on these items until the 24 hour period is up.
WHAT DOES “NEW” MEAN?
New does not always mean NEW IN BOX, We do try to indicate the condition and if the item is a store return, shelf pull, overstock or damaged packaging item. We receive the items in different conditions such as “open box” (meaning Someone in the store opened the box so it was removed from inventory), Sometimes they are in a Damaged box (Shipping damage, store damage, etc..) Some items are shelf pulls (End of life, overstock, dead stock, Seasonal or new versions replace them on the shelves of stores and the companies have older stock liquidated). They are ALL considered liquidation items and we will do our best to indicate what state the package and product is in and if we have tested the item. When items are listed as SEALED or UNOPENED they are not ever opened by us. They are GRADE A items (Hard to get but great sellers when we do get them). Even brand new items in sealed boxes sometimes do not work as they should so please test these too as soon as your get home and again only 24 hours before it’s too late to let us know. We want HAPPY bidders and HAPPY consignors so this is the best solution for all…
For items marked NEW or WORKING we will give you a FULL 24 hours to take the items home, test them and ensure they work correctly. Not many auctions do this! We will hold off paying the consignor for 24 hours from the time the payment is received. The clock in the system starts when the payment is entered into our computer, after 24 hours we will make the funds available for the consignor to be paid out… and once the consignor is paid we do not have any recourse and will not take the item back or refund the item so you only have 24 hours. If the item is not listed as WORKING or NEW then assume it is ASIS and no warranty is offered or implied. It is best to inspect ALL items on pickup so any item not as described can be brought to our attention right at pickup. Unfortunately any item you have us STORE or any item you have a third party pick up has NO warranty of any kind. Consider the purchase a ASIS purchase as we pay the consignors 24 hours after your make your payment to us so if you pay online that 24 hour window starts as soon as we enter that payment into our system.
If you find the item your purchased does not function correctly within 24 hours of paying for it and picking it up and was listed as NEW or WORKING then within the 24 hour period simply open a support ticket and let us know. We will FREEZE the payment to the consignor at this point and wait up to 2 weeks for your to return the item for inspection.
You do not need to return the item immediately either you can bring it in the next time you come (14 days max) and we will inform the consignor that the item is being returned. We do not take items back because you do not like them or cause they did not fit right, we will test and inspect the item when returned and if we agree that the item does not function correctly or was listed improperly we will accept the return and issue a full credit for the purchase. We will be fair to both the consignor and the buyer in these situations as we are the middle person in the transaction and the mediator to resolve any issues. Please keep in mind that we DO NOT own the items, we work on commissions from both the buyers and the sellers and represent both parties.
Items listed as “BULK” or “RESELLERS LOT” containing NEW items but sold in multiples DO NOT have 24 hour guarantee
Bulk lots are for the re sellers, you can usually expect 20% of re sellers lots on average to either be missing parts, not working, partially working, damaged, etc… and usually 80% are good re sell-able items. No Guarantees at all is offered on these bulk lots.
All other items are also sold AS DESCRIBED without any warranty or guarantee of any kind. This means if it says AS IS or AS FOUND it means it has damage or is not working or even that it is dirty. The consignors supply the blurbs about the items, Not us. If they say “as found condition” and do not give details as to what is wrong just assume it’s very badly damaged and you are buying as it is. This will teach the consignors to wright better descriptions! Please do not come to us and say you want to return it. We hope if the consignor does not bother to tell you what is wrong with the ad is item that you will not bid much for it. If you overpay first an ASIS item remember we do not set the prices, you do.
When you pick up your items please inspect them. Any Non vintage/antique item that is not listed ASIS or AS FOUND that has significant damage or parts missing we will review the item with you and if we agree the consignor was trying to be deceitful or missed something important in the description (or missed any obvious damage in the description that was not shown in the photos or the item turns out NOT to be as it was described you do not need to pay for it). We will return it to the consignor or relist it with a updated description. We deal with 100’s of items every week so we do miss details at times and so do the consignors. It’s rare that a consignor purposely is being deceitful but when we suspect this we ask them to do better descriptions and monitor the descriptions more closely and sometimes ask them not to consign with us any more.
We do NOT test everything that comes in either, we do a quick inspection during the photos to make sure the description the consignor supplies is accurate and then our staff lists the item. If we test it we indicate that we tested it.
Please… Do not assume anything, if you require additional photos or info please open a support ticket and ask early in the week (Not during auction close or even the day before the auction runs all week long so please ask earlier in the week). If you bid without being 100% sure you could end up with something you do not want and it’s no ones fault but your own so please come in and preview or ask questions before bidding.
If you get in a bidding war with another bidder and end up paying to much for an item or you did not read the description or assumed something that is not true this is affectionately called “BIDDERS REMORSE” In the auction world and it happens to us all at one time or another, some people don’t read the descriptions, some assume things, some just get caught up in the auction and find themselves bidding against someone else who also MUST HAVE that same item. Just please keep in mind we are not a retail store and we do not take items back cause you feel you paid to much for them, remember we do not set the prices… you do!
THIRD PARTY PICKUP AND STORAGE NEGATES ANY GUARANTEE
Unfortunately if we store items or you have them picked up by a third party we would have most likely paid the consignor by the time you receive the items so anyone buying items to be stored or picked up by third party delivery we can not guarantee the items will arrive in working order.
